ABOUT THE ROLE.

We are on the hunt for an accomplished and motivated individual to join the team as a senior multibeam processor in our newly established Multi-Beam Processing Department. The successful applicant will play a key role in the team in creating, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive workflows and projects. This role will involve mentoring junior team members and upskilling them with skills necessary to proficiently process Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES) and backscatter data.

This position is integral to cultivating a high-performing team capable of delivering top-quality data processing outcomes, thereby contributing significantly to Ocean Geophysics’ success in the field of ocean exploration and geophysics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Data Processing and Interpretation: Lead the processing of large volumes of complex data using advanced multi-beam processing and backscatter techniques. Develop and optimize workflows for data processing tasks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Software Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of geophysical software packages, including but not limited to Autoclean, Qimera, QGIS, and FMGT to analyze and manipulate data effectively.

Mentoring and Training: Assist in the training and development of junior team members, providing guidance, support, and knowledge transfer to help them grow professionally.

Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of processed geophysical data, adhering to industry standards, best practices and client SOW’s.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, data specialists, and clients, to achieve project objectives and deliverables.

Offshore Data Acquisition: Occasionally, participate in offshore data acquisition activities, providing technical expertise and support. Travel for offshore work will be limited.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS.

Extensive hands-on experience in Multi-Beam Processing and a deep understanding of MBES and backscatter data processing techniques.
Proficiency in Autoclean and Chimera software packages is essential; familiarity with alternative software options is a plus.
Demonstrated aptitude in instructional design and training facilitation, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
Proven leadership experience.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Strong organizational capabilities, adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Adaptability to evolving technologies and a willingness to explore innovative approaches.
