Prospective candidates must be willing to relocate to Chiang Mai, Thailand, as this role is office-based and centred in this vibrant city.

ABOUT THE ROLE.

We are searching for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Multi-Beam Processor. As a Multi-Beam Processor, you will play a crucial role in the analysis and interpretation of underwater topography and seafloor mapping data collected during oceanographic surveys. Your work will contribute to advancing our understanding of marine environments, supporting marine resource exploration, environmental monitoring, and geohazard assessment. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Process, analyse, and interpret multi-beam sonar data collected during ocean surveys to generate accurate and detailed seafloor
    maps.

 

  • Collaborate with geophysicists, oceanographers, and other team members to ensure high-quality data processing and interpretation.

 

  • Utilise advanced mathematical techniques to perform data calibration, noise reduction, and image enhancement.

 

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of processing algorithms and workflow.

 

  • Produce high-quality reports and visualisations communicating survey findings to internal and external stakeholders.

 

  • Participate in field assignments as needed, including vessel-based data collection campaigns and survey operations.

 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in multi-beam technology and oceanographic research.

 

  • Actively engage in team meetings and discussions to share insights, troubleshoot challenges, and contribute to project planning.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geo-Science, Geography, Computer
    Science or a related field. Proficiency in advanced mathematics and
    data analysis techniques.

 

  • Strong aptitude for problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the
    ability to think in 3D. Excellent communication skills, both written and
    verbal.

 

  • Prior experience with multi-beam processing is a plus but not mandatory. Training will be provided. Familiarity with GIS software and data visualisation tools is advantageous.

 

  • Fluency in English is required.

 

  • You must be an English speaking Thai National or have the right to work in Thailand.
